Here's a few random things I've learned today.
1. Mixing left-over coffee with the left-over coffee grounds (brewed that day, of course!) can be used between shampooing and conditioning hair....it adds extra shine to dark hair. (I saw this on a "stumbleupon" site and will try it tonight!)
2. Little things do count. Instead of watching "Lie to Me," a television show I enjoy watching with the hubby, while waiting for me to get out of an interview, he watched a show I don't really care for so we could watch "Lie to Me" together later today.
3. A snuggling bunny makes it hard to leave the house....I'd much rather stay in and snuggle with him. His cute little face is hard to leave.
And I'm going to leave it there.

Herky Jerkies
I'm back! I took a little break due to illness/catching up/homework work load!
But it has been quite the two weeks! Let's recap:
Last Tuesday, I was feeling horrible. Couldn't keep anything down, including fluids. Mike talked me into going to the Walk-in Clinic to get checked out because I was probably super dehidrated by then. (I had been sick for a few days). So, we walk in a blizzard to the Walk-In. Why? Because we don't have a car (It's an adventure!! haha). Anyway. We get there and they check my blood pressure a zillion different ways and decide that they want to keep me for an IV. The nurse comes in and looks for a vein....pokes me in my left arm and digs around in there looking for a vein.....nothing. That was weird because I give blood every chance I get and they never have a problem.... So, she takes it out and moves onto the right arm. Same thing. Digs around and finds nothing. She grabs yet another needle and pokes the left hand. Digs around in there too and when I let her know of my discomfort, she pulls it out and gives up. So, they gave me an anti-nausea pill, made me lay down for a bit, wrote a perscription and school excuse and sent me home.
Several hours later, I was getting worse, so Mike talked me into going to the ER. It was pretty late, so we opted for a Taxi instead of walking. I get in there, they check my vitals and I wait for a doctor. I actually got a real doctor too! Most of the time, they just send in the assistant. But I got the real deal this time. He asks a few questions and tells the nurse to hook me up to an IV. One poke and they had it! I went through 2 1/2 liters of saline solution and felt much better. They also gave me anti-nausea medication that in the doctor's words: gave me the "Herky Jerkies." Benadryl cleared that up.
I went home doped up on Benadryl at midnight. Poor Mike. Haha.
Anyway, I'm going to close this one now. I'll post again later.

Happy Six Months!
To what, you may be asking. Well, today is the six month wedding anniversary for the hubby and I. :) Here's a few things I've learned during this time.
1. I can be a complete and total dork around my husband. Not to say I wasn't while we were dating, but he's stuck with me now, so I can let all of my dorkiness out. And, I do. :) But, he does too. so it works.
2. There's no "okay, let me be nice, wait for you to crawl into the nice warm bed so I can shut off the lamp." Oh no no no! Instead, "Last one in bed shuts off the light!" followed by jumping into the bed that has become a common ritual in our home.
3. "Snooze" is a state of being. Basically, the alarm has gone off once (or twice), but the husband has hit the snooze button (or on his snazzy new phone, just flipped it over) and is getting a few minutes of extra rest time. Snooze is not to be disturbed by a loving wife bringing him a hot cup of coffee.
4. I've never laughed quite as much as I do now. I have a much more random sense of humor than I did before getting married. :)

You are his cheese ... burrrr ... grrrrr
So, we were supposed to go to a friend's birthday bash tonight, but decided against it once we faced the raging Marquette weather. It's a pretty good walk from our apartment to her's, and really didn't want to freeze midway and have to wait until July to thaw. So, we stayed in.
What does staying in entail exactly? Well, I'll tell you. Yesterday while walking to the Wright Place, Mike stopped and I started singing "Keep Walking..." a Veggie Tales song. Well, it was stuck in his head all day today. I decided to look it up on iTunes to purchase it, and found many other Veggie Tales songs to play. Luckily, I stumbled upon "His Cheesburger" (If you have not heard this song, I suggest you go here and watch it. It is the most obnoxious song out there, and my dear husband knows every word. I'm not kidding you. Every word. And, it's a good song to serenade your wife with, so I've been told. I'm glad he has a sense of humor. :)
But for real, we have our laughs, and it makes the marriage so much fun.
Well, I have to get back to Googling more Veggie Tales songs. Who knows. We may even get a little crazy and watch some Veggie Tales on Netflix. Awesome Saturday night in? I think so.
Night. :)

Ahh, Saturday.
Happy Saturday!
I woke up with the hubby this morning and made him breakfast before he went to work. I told him I'd make him anything he wanted, but he chose a bagel with honey butter and honey nut cream cheese. He normally doesn't work on the weekend, but he picked up shifts.
I love Saturday. It's been really productive too! No, not really. I'm still in my pajammas. Had a cup of coffee. Well, coffee+hot cocoa+ whip cream. Mmmm. :) Snuggled with the sinister bunny a bit. Scolded him for chewing on his litter box, and attempted to read the bazillion pages we were assigned in Russian Lit. Mike will be home at 3, so I'm hoping to have it done by then so I can kick his butt in Settlers of Catan, or whatever other game he chooses. :)
I think that's about all I have for now! :)

Unexpected date night.
After Mike got done with work last night, we headed downtown (on foot of course) and went to one of our favorite stores there, Book World. We're nerds. We love to read, and read together so we're always looking for books. :) Snowbound Books is our preference, but Book World is open late. Anyway, we went there in search for magazines that I'd like to write for. I know, exciting right?! It's for a project in one of my courses. So, we spent a billion years in there looking for a local-ish magazine that I'd have a shot at writing in...maybe. I found "Midwest Living" and another magazine that I've already forgotten the name of.
Then we stopped into Donkers....mmmmmmm candy! Mike bought some delicious, mouthwatering stuff and we spent the next 15 minutes in the cold trying to figure out if we wanted to eat downtown or go home for food. We decided on our favorite place to eat when we have a little extra cash in our pockets and decided on The Landmark Inn. Unfortunately, the awesome sky bar was packed full, but we found a table down at the pub.(The Landmark has two restaurants and a sky bar.) It was nice to sit down, take a break from the semester, and have a date with my favorite person. :)
The comic relief added to our class was the table of obviously tipsy professors within earshot.

New semester and a psycho bunny
So, it's the second day of the semester, and I'm already ready to be done. There's something about sitting in an uncomfortable desk chair or lab stool that just makes me want to crawl under warm blankets on a comfy bed even more than usual.
There are a few cool things about this semester though. Mike and I are taking a biology class together and have it at 10am on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays. I hate science, so Mike sitting next to me and helping me to not fall asleep is helpful. Also, it's nice because we have a class that we can talk about and really know what's going on. And, there's also the "let's cut the book costs in half" that becomes a nice bonus. If we're both taking the class at the same time, only one book is needed, saving almost $100!
The writing classes I'm taking are really gearing me up for getting into the business of Journalism. Of course, eventually I'd like to just freelance and be a stay-at-home mom. Dream job all the way!
Onto the second portion of the title, Patrick, our rabbit, is a psycho.
Straight up. We bought him a new cage the other day and he loves it. He goes bonkers. It's twice the size of his last one, and has a litter box in the corner, toys hanging from it, and a lot of space to run. He does run. Not hop, run. Back and forth making as much noise as possible. You see, he's a attention fiend. If he doesn't get what he wants, he'll throw a tantrum. He'll whip whatever is in his cage to the other side, dump his food, pee in his water, and ring his bell over and over again until you give in. Mike and I always give in. Mainly because if we ignore him, he progressively gets worse and will not stop. He's become like a child to us. He gets a kiss from me before I turn into bed at night. If he doesn't.....well, the crap hits the fan. Or the side of the cage for that matter. That tantrum I was talking about? Yeah. Double it. If we ignore him, go upstairs, and turn on the fan, he will ring his bell loud enough for us to hear, get annoyed, and come back downstairs to give him a dang kiss. His new litter box? Yeah, he doesn't use it for that. He thinks it's a chair or something. He just sits in it. Crazy rabbit. If he hears us talking upstairs in the morning, like 2 minutes after the alarm goes off, his bell is ringing. And will continue to ring until we take the blanket off of his cage, give him fresh food and water, and attention. Forget going to the bathroom first.

Truly an adventure
Hello, world!! I'd like to spend my first blog as a way to inject a few of my views on marriage, and the idea behind the title of the blog.
Marriage, so far, has been everything opposite of what people said it was going to be. It's been better. Way better. Throughout my life, I had always heard that people who were in love got married, and then everything changed for the worse. Mostly, to the point where there was regret. Constant fighting, lies, hiding stuff, lack of communication, etc. The term "ball and chain" had freaked me out. Divorce rate is so stinkin' high that it's scary. But marriage has been great! (I know, you're probably thinking, just wait, you haven't been married very long...) But I don't think that will happen. I really don't. And there are a few reasons for that.
Reason 1: I'm literally married to the person God put into my life.
Reason 2: That person also happens to be my best friend. Cool, right? I know.
Reason 3: Life is an adventure. So is marriage. If you look at it like that, laugh a whole bunch, and have fun, it's a great time.
Reason 4: I have a different attitude when it comes to being a wife. I like being dependent. I'll say it again. I like being dependent. I rely on my husband to take care of me. I support him and all that he does. He takes care of me. I take care of him too, but differently. I want him to be the sole provider. I've been called old fashioned, but I honestly love the way our marriage works.
Blog title: Like I said above, my husband Mike and I look at our life together as a series of little adventures creating one huge adventure. It makes waking up in the morning something to look forward to. What adventure are we going on next?!?! It's pretty cool.
