Herky Jerkies

I'm back! I took a little break due to illness/catching up/homework work load!

But it has been quite the two weeks! Let's recap:

Last Tuesday, I was feeling horrible. Couldn't keep anything down, including fluids. Mike talked me into going to the Walk-in Clinic to get checked out because I was probably super dehidrated by then. (I had been sick for a few days). So, we walk in a blizzard to the Walk-In. Why? Because we don't have a car (It's an adventure!! haha). Anyway. We get there and they check my blood pressure a zillion different ways and decide that they want to keep me for an IV. The nurse comes in and looks for a vein....pokes me in my left arm and digs around in there looking for a vein.....nothing. That was weird because I give blood every chance I get and they never have a problem.... So, she takes it out and moves onto the right arm. Same thing. Digs around and finds nothing. She grabs yet another needle and pokes the left hand. Digs around in there too and when I let her know of my discomfort, she pulls it out and gives up. So, they gave me an anti-nausea pill, made me lay down for a bit, wrote a perscription and school excuse and sent me home.

Several hours later, I was getting worse, so Mike talked me into going to the ER. It was pretty late, so we opted for a Taxi instead of walking. I get in there, they check my vitals and I wait for a doctor. I actually got a real doctor too! Most of the time, they just send in the assistant. But I got the real deal this time. He asks a few questions and tells the nurse to hook me up to an IV. One poke and they had it! I went through 2 1/2 liters of saline solution and felt much better. They also gave me anti-nausea medication that in the doctor's words: gave me the "Herky Jerkies." Benadryl cleared that up.

I went home doped up on Benadryl at midnight. Poor Mike. Haha.

Anyway, I'm going to close this one now. I'll post again later.
